Data Protection
Privacy Policy
Effective Date: July 30, 2025
Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how MediCare Transit gathers, uses, shares, and safeguards the information you provide through our website and our ride request tools (together, the “Service”).
By using our Service, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not accept these terms, please discontinue use of our Service.
Overview
This Privacy Policy describes:
- What information we collect and why;
- How we use your information;
- When and how information is shared;
- Your choices and rights regarding your information.
Information We Collect
We may request or collect personal details that identify you as an individual, including (but not limited to):
- Name;
- Contact details (such as address, email, and phone number);
- Information you provide when you contact us or request a ride;
- Any additional information you choose to provide.
If you believe we have collected your information in error, please contact us at dispatcher@medicaretransit.com.
Information Collected Through the Ride Request Form
Requesting a ride requires information about the trip and about the rider. When you submit the ride request form, we collect:
- Trip details — pickup address, drop-off address, requested date and time, and estimated distance;
- The service level requested — ambulatory or wheelchair;
- Any accessibility or assistance needs you describe in your own words;
- Rider and requester contact details — name, phone number, and email address;
- The name of an insurance or health plan, if you choose to provide one. This field is optional.
Mobility needs and health plan details are health-related information. We collect them only to assign a suitable vehicle and driver, and to arrange, confirm, and carry out the transportation you requested.
If you pay by card, your card details are entered directly into our payment processor’s secure fields. We receive a reference to that payment method, not your full card number.
If you would rather not submit these details online, call Dispatch at (909) 892-8383 to arrange the trip.
How We Use Your Information
Unless you have agreed otherwise, we use your information solely for:
- Arranging, confirming, and providing the transportation you requested;
- Providing, maintaining, and improving our Service;
- Responding to your inquiries and fulfilling requests;
- Sending communications related to a trip or a request you submitted;
- Meeting legal, regulatory, or compliance obligations.
We do not sell your personal information.
We may share your information with service providers as needed to operate our Service (for example, email delivery or payment processing), or where legally required.
Analytics & Tracking
We do not run third-party analytics or advertising trackers on this website.
Our hosting and security infrastructure keeps standard server logs, described in the next section. The ride request form loads our payment processor’s secure fields at the payment step. Those are the only external services these pages rely on.
If we introduce analytics in the future, this section will be updated before it is turned on.
Automatically Collected Information
Like most websites, ours records standard technical information when a page is requested, through routine server and security logging. This may include:
- IP address;
- Browser and device type;
- The page requested and the referring page;
- Date and time of access.
This information is used to keep the site running, to diagnose problems, and to protect against abuse. Depending on your jurisdiction, your IP address may be classified as personal data.
Data Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your personal information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. By using our Service, you acknowledge and accept this risk.
Public Disclosures
Any information you submit in a public place — for example, a public review or a public social media post — can be read and used by anyone. We are not responsible for the privacy or security of information you choose to make public.
Children’s Privacy
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 directly. Where an adult requests transportation for a minor, the information is provided by that adult on the minor’s behalf. If you believe a child has provided us information directly and without a parent or guardian, contact us at dispatcher@medicaretransit.com and we will take prompt action.
External Links
Our Service may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for their privacy policies or content. Please review the privacy policy of any external site you visit.
Policy Updates
We may revise this Privacy Policy periodically. Updates will be posted to this page with the new effective date. Your continued use of our Service constitutes acceptance of these changes.
Your Choices & Rights
To review, update, correct, or request deletion of your personal information, contact us at dispatcher@medicaretransit.com or call Dispatch at (909) 892-8383.
If you no longer want email from us that is not about a trip you requested, tell us and we will stop sending it.
Note: we cannot guarantee removal of information from the records of third parties with whom it was shared as described in this Policy or with your consent.
Communications
By providing your contact information, you consent to receive communications from us about your request or your trip, by email or by phone.
Any communication sent to us by email or through our Service is considered non-confidential unless we have explicitly agreed otherwise.
No Third-Party Rights
This Privacy Policy does not grant rights to any third party.
Terms of Use
Use of the MediCare Transit Service is also subject to our Terms of Use.
Data Location & Jurisdiction
Our servers are located in the United States. By using our Service, you consent to the transfer and storage of your information in the U.S., subject to U.S. law and lawful access by authorities.
This Policy is governed by the laws of the State of California.
Read our Terms of Use.
